Project Highlights
Scope of Project: The project involved a complete restoration of the facade and the installation of new fiberglass cornice. The scope also included the replacement of deteriorated masonry, cutting and pointing of mortar joints, lintel replacement, repairs to the fire escape and deteriorated stone ornaments.
FSI's Involvement: FSI took care of the preparation of construction documents for the South and East facade restoration project. This included the design and coordination of fabrication of a new fiberglass cornice along with the respective structure. FSI coordinated bidding the project to qualified contractors and providing a recommendation for the selection of a contractor. Lastly, the firm was also involved in the construction administration phase of the project. Once the facade restoration and fiberglass cornice installation project were completed, the project was signed off.
FSI currently serves as the architect of record (See Consulting) for restoration projects, including the preparation of construction documents, filing with city agencies for permits, bidding, project management and sign offs with city agencies.
